Our Story
The Beginning to an Amazing Life and AN Awesome Adventure
Lace and I met at Baylor University in Waco circa 2009 and married in 2011. We are both teachers by trade and taught in the greater Waco area after we married. In 2013 we moved to Mexico City and began teaching at the American School Foundation. We returned to Texas in 2015 to begin our farming endeavors. I am teaching in Waco while we grow our farming enterprise, and Lace stays at home with the kids.
We had little experience raising animals or growing plants when we moved to the farm. Lace grew up in the country and bottle-fed calves from time to time but really spent much of her youth in dance companies around Waco. I grew up in suburbanite communities where vegetable gardens and chickens were rarely heard of.
What started out as a small interest in having some chickens and a small garden, has turned into a passion for raising our own food, sourcing locally what we can't grow, and providing others the opportunity to connect with their food and the farmers who grow it.
We appreciate the time you've taken to look at our site. If you have questions or comments, feel free to contact us. We enjoy connecting with our community and helping others understand their food. We'll see you soon.
Your Farmer,
John
Our Motto
"Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food"
There are many buzz words surrounding food: organic, natural, grass-fed, non-gmo, cage-free, and local to name a few. Some of these words apply to our products...none of them are all encompassing. We believe the best way to understand the practices of a farm and the quality of its products is to meet the farmers and see the farms.
